Aivars Bokalders, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on October 31, 2023. He was born on May 27, 1946, in Amberg, Germany.

Aivars had a distinguished career that spanned several decades. He worked for Ameritech and CDW, where he made significant contributions to the telecommunications and technology sectors. His expertise and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues and peers.

Beyond his professional life, Aivars had an array of passions and interests that brought him much joy. He was an avid supporter of his Northwestern University Wildcats.  Aivars was very proud of his Latvian Heritage and was a big contributor to the Latvian Sports Organization and other cultural events.  He enjoyed traveling in his RV with his family, skiing in Colorado, and cruising in his Crossfire. 

Aivars was a loving family man who adored his wife of 47 years, Ilga Bokalders. Theirs was a bond built on love, trust, and unwavering commitment to one another. Together they raised two wonderful sons, Aleks(Jill) and Andy Bokalders. Aivars was immensely proud of their accomplishments and cherished every moment spent with them.

His grandchildren Emme Bokalders and Kaleb Bokalders held a special place in Aivar's heart. He showered them with affection and created lasting memories that will be cherished by all for generations to come.

Aivars was not only a devoted family man but also a loyal brother to Parsla Gagainis and Ziggy(Lisa) Bokalders. Their bond was unbreakable, filled with shared experiences and everlasting love.

Throughout his life, Aivars touched the lives of many people with his kindness, generosity, and warm spirit. 

As we mourn the loss of Aivars Bokalders, let us also celebrate the beautiful life he lived. Though he may no longer be with us in presence, his spirit will forever live on in our hearts and memories. May he find eternal peace and rest knowing that his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all.
