Alan Alston, 67, a retired Army veteran, passed away peacefully. He was most recently of Cibolo, Texas, and previously lived in Chicago, Illinois; Fort Sam Houston and San Antonio, Texas; and Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.

Alan honorably served 20 years in the United States Army Nurse Corps, dedicating his career to caring for others with professionalism, discipline, and compassion. His service and commitment were a source of pride to his family and all who knew him.

He was married to Pearl Christian Bell for 37 years, sharing a life built on love and mutual respect. Alan was a devoted father to Alexia (Benny Dew, Jr.) Alston-Dew and Amber (Juan Salinas) Alston, and a proud grandfather to Christina Alston-Dew and Celeste Alston-Dew.

Alan is also survived by his siblings, Stephanie, Eric, Darlene, Shawn, and Madelyn, with whom he shared enduring bonds.

Alan enjoyed Who’s Who and chess. He will be remembered for his service to his country, his devotion to his family, and the steady, caring presence he brought to those around him.
