Andres “Andy” Arellano, 73, of North Mayfair, transitioned on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Swedish Covenant Hospital. He peacefully was called home after having the love of his family by his side during his final days. He was born in Sara, Iloilo Philippines on November 10, 1946 to Salvador & Matilde (Penalosa) Arellano. Loving husband of Minda for 47 years. His greatest joy in life was his family and making sure they were safe and well taken care of. Andy worked for many years as a mechanical and electrical engineer, and tax advisor until his retirement.
Andy is survived by his loving wife, Minda; sons, Jame Louie, Kristoffer Ian and daughter Rowena; grandchildren, Christopher Ross, Liam London, Anna Aaliyah, and Andrew James; brothers, Ely, Juanito, Jorge and sisters, Clorina and Farelyn; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and countless friends. He is proceeded in death by his brothers, Romeo, Mario and sister, Virgie.
Andy had a sharp and active mind, and a phenomenal memory. He was a thinker who loved to study and learn new ideas. He also loved tennis and played in men’s leagues for many years. His strength, determination and strong-will are truly an inspiration to all. His family is going to miss his humor, intellectual curiosity, creativity and expressiveness.
The family sends deepest thanks to the hospice workers and aides at Swedish Covenant Hospital who cared so beautifully for our father in the midst of the pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Minda’s name to his family. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
