Anthony "Tony" Bertronski, 72, passed away peacefully in Rainbow Hospice on February 28, 2021. Loving Husband of 48 years to Mary, devoted father to his son Anthony "Tony" Bertronski (Emily), caring grandfather to Jeremy and loved by his family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Emily Bertronski and brother Peter Bertronski, Jr.
Born at Evangelical Hospital in Chicago on April 10, 1948. Attended Edward Hurley Elementary School and Bogan High School where at 17 he was the first student to receive a perfect score on his College Board Level Achievement test. He attended IIT with majors in math and science.
He met the love of his life Mary in 1971 while working at Travelers Insurance and married in 1973. Tony would say the greatest achievement of his life is the birth of his son, Tony. Tony's job as an Actuary provided him the opportunity to travel with his family to various cities throughout the United States.
Tony had extensive hobbies, that included music and his ability to play multiple instruments naturally. He would always draw applause from a crowd, especially when shopping at Nordstrom's where he would sit down and start playing the piano (much to management's dismay). He loved math and science puzzles and mastered many languages including, Italian, Polish, Russian, and Spanish. One of his greatest attributes was his ability to cook and bake and change recipes for the better!
One of Tony's greatest pleasures was teaching both his son and grandson, about physics, chemistry and math. The most enjoyable times were the fun and crazy science experiments they did together. The many science discoveries were made by mistake, but the laughter and good times are memorable.
Dear Tony, remember that Mary will meet you at 5:00 by the flowers.
"Don’t let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief, shining moment, that was known as Camelot.”
