Antoine "Big Twan" Smith

Antoine "Big Twan" Smith, 59, gained his wings on June 29, 2023. He was blessed by the union of Curtis Lee Smith and Dorothy Louise Smith-Barber (whom proceeded him in death), who later remarried his step- father Lovell Barber. His grandfather and grandmother James Medley and Marguerite Medley whom also proceeded him in death.

Born in Chicago but spent most of his life in the Bellwood area. After being baptized at an early age, he eventually moved on to be a proud graduate of Proviso West High School. Antoine began working at the age of 13 continuing throughout his life as a hardworker.

He was a loving brother to Lee "General" Thomas Adams Jr. (whom proceeded him in death), and was survived by Tawana " Flubbing Flopping” Smith (Charlie "Charlie Dog" McThune) & Orlando "Maine" Barber.

While he never had any children of his own, his love was spread throughout many generations of aunts, uncles and cousins. Being surrounded by a host of nieces & nephews: Kenyatta "Yaya", JuJuan "JJ/Jaybum", Jermaine "Big Ole/Maine", Amanda "The Coach", Omarr, Shaniqua, Renada, Lee "Lil Lee" & Demetrius "Meatrail". His family continued to grow and he became a beloved great-uncle and great great uncle.

Big Twan was known for being a sports fan who cherished spending quality time with his family & treasured his truck "Big Boy". He was known to many as a good "story teller" with a great sense of humor. Antoine would never be caught being seen without a beer and a cigarette. Antoine leaves behind many cherished memories. He was a good-natured friend to many and will be dearly missed by all of his  beloved "bums".

A celebration of his life will be taking place July 15, 2023 starting at 10:30AM at Andersen Morgan Funeral Home located at 10300 Grand Ave, Franklin Park, IL 60131
