Arnold Vincent Dano (“Arnie”), 89, of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025. Loving husband of Rosalin, née Werling, for many years. Dear father to John (Christine), Jeff (Kumiko), and Jim (Mary). Beloved grandfather to Emily (Chris), Bradley, Molly Jo (Kendall), Kelly, Evan, Roarke, and Graham. Proud great-grandfather to Fyona, Bjorn, Bowen, Finley Jo, and Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Maria; his sister, Emily Korzin; and his great-grandchildren, Sybil and Sylas Fricker. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and dear cousins. Arnie and his wife Rosalin lived in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and enjoyed the sunshine and their condo on Honeymoon Island in Dunedin, Florida. For most of his work life, Arnie was a mechanical design engineer. Upon retirement, as he loved fixing things and had boundless energy, he started a heating and air conditioning business and a handyman service. He loved his family and would help anyone who needed something repaired, often without accepting payment. Arnie proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, and he was a member of the American Legion and the Marine Corps League. In lieu of flowers, the family has listed the Wounded Warrior Project (https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/) or the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (https://www.dbsalliance.org/) for any charitable donations.
A celebration of life service is planned for Saturday, November 22, at 11:00 AM, followed by a luncheon. The service will take place at The Pointe Christian Outreach Center, 5650 NW Highway, Crystal Lake, IL 60014 (Located between Target and Sam's Club)
