Barbara Joanne Garcia

Barbara Joanne Garcia, 80, of Chicago, formerly Des Plaines and Schiller Park, passed away peacefully March 2, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence A. Moncada. Adored mother of Michael L. Moncada and Patricia A. (Eric Belcher) Moncada. Doting grandmother of Emelia M. (Brad) Mortensen. Cherished great grandmother of Caleb M. Mortensen. Dear sister of Elizabeth Novak Czworniak and Debra Novak Sharp. Treasured aunt of all her nieces/great-nieces, and nephews/great-nephews. Loving daughter of Chester and Eleanor Novak.

Barbara was a caring and loving individual who was loved by all who knew her. Her kind heart and warm personality naturally led her profession of being a proud nurse for 35 years. She will live on in her passion for singing and dancing, being the Jitterbug Contest winner. Barbara loved life and valued every moment of it. She will be remembered for her love of gardening and watching movies with friends and family. Barbara will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of her surviving family members and friends. Let us cherish the memories we shared with her and find comfort in knowing that her spirit will always be with us.

Services will be held Saturday, March 16th, 2024, at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy., Park Ridge, IL 60068 from 2pm - 6pm.
