Barbara Ann Seibert-Fox

Barbara Ann “Barb” Seibert-Fox (formerly Cole, nee Barrows), 75, of Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Roger and Elizabeth Barrows (nee Romans) unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, February 11^th, 2023.

Barbara was born on February 17^th, 1947, in Duluth, MN. Barbara attended East Duluth High School and Central Duluth High School and went on to study Nursing at and graduated in 1967.

Nursing was Barbara’s passion, having been employed at hospitals, nursing homes, and private practices in Minnesota, Illinois, and Indiana.  She would sometimes volunteer at her childrens’ schools as a substitute nurse, and after her retirement, she went on to care for elderly members in the community.

Along with nursing, Barbara showed her compassion by opening an art school, Live Up Art, Inc., in Gary, Indiana with her husband, Leon.  This school was great for the Gary, Indiana community, as it gave children a place to go after school and was the host to many community events including 5K races and Gumbo cook-offs.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, David and John. She is survived by her husband, Leon Fox, her children, Marla Cole-Wieringa (Dany), Nancy Cole-Ramirez (Gilbert), Kelsey Cole (Austra), Barrette Seibert, and Jessica Fox, her grandchildren Jasmin (Ryan), Aubrey, Natasha, James, Alex, Lindsey, Evan, Armand, Anika, Alexis, Elizabeth, and Rebekah, her great-grandchildren, Adam, Anna, and Thorin, as well as her canine companion, Sham.
