In Memoriam

Barry Lester Johnson-St. Jon loving called “Uncle Barry” by his nieces and nephews and “brother by cousin Kimberly Johnson. Barry was a man who lived life on his own terms, known for his quick wit, infectious laughter, and a truly generous heart.

More than just an uncle, he was a best friend to his nieces and nephews, always ready with a joke, a helping hand, or a tall tale. His love for music was contagious. And he was head over hills about the singer Diana Ross. Uncle Barry brought immense joy to family gatherings and never missed a chance to make someone smile nor a big party.

After graduating from high school, he worked as a surgical technologist, where he was known for his dedication and integrity. Uncle Barry leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lasting memories. He is survived by his beloved nieces and nephews, sister/brother cousins, and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his Mother Henrietta Johnson, Father Lucius Johnson Jr., brothers, Phillip Johnson, Lucius Johnson II, Craig Johnson, Keith Johnson, and Kelly Johnson.

We thank everyone for coming out today and special thanks to David Pollard and his church family to share stories and greatness of Uncle Barry life.

Poem

You did not walk through life quietly,
You lived it bold and bright.
With laughter always close at hand
And joy that felt just right.

To many you were Uncle
Barry,With stories, jokes, and cheer.
The one who made a gathering warm
The moment you drew near.

Music lived within your soul,
It moved you deep inside.
And when Diana Ross would play,
Your smile you could not hide.

You loved the simple things in life
That made the spirit sing
A plate of ribs, good company,
And each action figure king.

Those heroes lined upon your shelf,
Each one a little spark,
A reminder of the childlike joy
You carried in your heart.

But more than all the laughs you gave,
More than the fun we knew,
You were a steady hand in life
A brother, an uncle, cousin, friend strong and true.

Through every year, through every time,
Your presence lit the way.
And love like yours does not grow faint
Or slowly fade away.

Though heaven called your name to rest,
And took you from our sight,
Your laughter echoes in our hearts
Like stars that fill the night.

So when we gather, when we laugh,
When music fills the air,
When ribs are shared around the table
We will know that you are there.

For love like yours does not depart,
It never truly ends.It lives within the hearts you touched,
In family, faith, and friends

And Uncle Barry, brother dear,
Though tears may fall today,
Your spirit walks beside us still
And never fades away.
