Bob "Skinny" Niehaus

Bob Niehaus, 81, Coast Guard veteran, of Lake Barrington, IL and formerly of Hermitage, PA passed from an extended illness surrounded by family on January 7, 2022. Loving husband of Elaine (Wojdanoski) Niehaus for 61 years. Beloved father of Robert L. Niehaus and Kerri L. (Kevin) Tenbrunsel. Cherished grandfather (Dadoo) of Lauren and Kaitlin Tenbrunsel. Brother-in-law to Carol Wojdanoski. Bob is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret ‘Peg’ Darlington (Niehaus).

Graduated from Hickory High School in 1958 and retired from National Castings, Midland Ross. Bob was an avid sports fan, reader and loved spending time with his granddaughters. Bob took pride in attending annual class reunions to keep in touch with high school friends and cherished his summers with wife, Elaine, and friends at Conneaut Lake and more than a decade of vacations on cruise ships. Bob will be remembered for how he participated in life by never missing the event of a family member and being fully present for every conversation. He was a great storyteller even when the most hilarious stories were about him. We will never forget his love for his family nor his faith, his height nor his big smile. In remembrance, rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association. A memorial will be held at a future date back in his hometown.
