In the early morning of Saturday, September 26th, 2020, Brian Helmus, loving brother, uncle and friend to many, passed away at the age of 62.
Brian was born in Chicago on October 31st, 1957 to Richard and Patricia Helmus. He worked at his beloved Wrigley Field since the early age of 16 and was the long-time Cubs head scorekeeper and member of the grounds crew, known to many as “Cubby Brian”.
Brian enjoyed gardening, fossil hunting and was an avid fisherman who loved fishing with his father and brother. It is also safe to say he was a lifelong die-hard Cubs fan. Brian was known by all who crossed his path as a good guy who was loyal, kind and had a huge heart.
Brian is preceded in death by his father, Richard and mother, Patricia. He is survived by his siblings, Karlene (Steve), Richard (Anne), Mary (Don), Nancy (Mike), Lauretta (Charles), and several nieces and nephews. Memorial arrangements will be decided upon on a later date. He will be truly missed and was so deeply loved.
