Charles Allen Shy

Charles A. Shy, age 65, of Chicago; passed away suddenly on January 10th 2018. Beloved father of Allen Robert Shy, whom he shared with his dear friend and former wife Yvonne. Loving brother of Maryann Bradford, and Michael (the late Ella) Shy. Adoring uncle of Natalie Bradford, Ian Bradford, Anthony Shy, Brian Shy, and Carla Shy. Dearest great-uncle of Tyler, and Samone Rush. Preceded in death by his parents James Shy and Minnie Sims. Charles was a talented civil engineer, working throughout the Chicagoland area for over 30 years. His greatest achievement was in raising Allen, who he enjoyed spending his time with. He is fondly remembered as volunteering to be his son's Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader, as well as many visits to the Lincoln Park Zoo and Museum of Science and Industry. Charles was sociable and known to be the 'life of the party'. He loved his city, and loved their teams- especially the Bulls and Bears.
