Charles West

Charles Earl West, 70, of Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood, went to be with the Lord on September 20, 2026. He was born in Lexington, Mississippi, on January 24, 1956, to the late Willie and Ada West.

Charles was the beloved partner of Shirley Riley, with whom he shared 42 years. He was a loving father to Charles West, Jr and Adrienne Craig, and stepfather to Shariba (William) Knox. He was a cherished grandfather to Brittany, Brielle, Brisyn, Shanice, Shauntay and Latrell.

Charles was a dear brother to Jean Lois, Timmy, and Glen (Dino), and was preceded in death by his siblings Johnny, James, Lela Olivia, Marie, Dorothy, and Sharon.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Progressive Funeral Parlor, 7208 S Stony Island Ave, Chicago, IL 60649.
