Cheryl Rogers of Chicago, IL passed away on March 22nd at the age of 72 after a brief illness. She was very spiritual and loved God.
Cheryl was the 2nd child born to John and Frances Rogers, who preceded her in death. She had one brother, William Edward, who preceded her in death and one sister, Marcie Rogers of Chicago.
Cheryl was a high achiever at an early age, she was walking at 9 months of age, she was a straight A student all the way through college. She was a track star and Olympic hopeful and she excelled in track and field and was a member of Mayor Daley's Youth Foundation in Chicago where she traveled throughout the US competing. She competed in Russia, China, Poland and other places during her teens. Cheryl was a graduate of the Univ of IL and attended Rush Medical School in Chicago.
She had a 40 year career as a caseworker with the State of Illinois. She was an avid reader and even taught herself to speak some Japanese. Cheryl was a loner and loved to travel. She was loved and will be missed by her sister and a host of cousins and friends.
