Christine Michelle LeGear

Christine Michelle LeGear (Schuette), of Algonquin, Illinois, passed away on March 31, 2026, leaving behind a life filled with love, laughter, and deep connections.

She was born August 28, 1967, in Waukegan, the daughter of Claire Cossette Schuette and the late Stanley Cizerle. Christine was the loving wife of 29 years to Robert LeGear; beloved mother of Jennifer (Matthew) O’Connor and Daniel LeGear; cherished daughter of Claire Schuette; adored granddaughter of Ann Cossette; beloved sister of Steven (Shawnda) Schuette, Richard Schuette, Leslie Schuette, and Scott Schuette; and wonderful niece of Faye (Bruce) Corey and Sara (Franklin) Pyrsson. She was an incredible aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered for her positive energy, incredible heart, grounded sense of reality, superb listening abilities, Carpe Diem mantra, and quick wit. She had an incredible zest for life and embraced each day, even when the days were difficult. A loyal and steady presence, she created lasting friendships and loved those closest to her fiercely.

Christine found joy in both life’s big moments and its simplest pleasures- walks, sunsets, and time by the water. Deeply connected to nature, she cherished the planet’s natural beauty - beaches, rivers, and lakes - especially time spent along the shores of Michigan and Illinois, and shelling in Marco Island. She loved spotting bald eagles on her river walks. She appreciated all the seasons—tulips in the spring, taking in all that summer had to offer, crisp autumn days with leaves crunching beneath her feet, and the beauty of freshly fallen snow. Nature was her solace. She had a special love for all creatures, big and small, including butterflies, hamsters, chipmunks, squirrels, Lil Kitty, and her favorite boy, Benny.

Above all, her greatest accomplishment was motherhood, and her greatest treasures were her children, Jennifer and Daniel. Her family was her greatest joy, and she showed them every day what it means to love deeply and live fully. Her husband, Bobby, was her rock; she loved and admired him and often said he was the greatest man she ever knew. She was blessed to have an amazing relationship with her mother, whom she loved dearly. She adored her close-knit family, including her siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she considered family.

She will be deeply missed, but her love of life will live on within her children, family, and all who were privileged to know her.
