Christopher "George" Williams was born on February 21, 1982, in South Bend,
IN, and he departed on April 26, 2024, in Chicago, IL. George was the son of
the late Janet and Frank Williams of South Bend, IN. He was the beloved
husband of Shannon Knowles of Chicago, IL, devoted brother of Mitchell
(Marshane)Murray of West Jordan,Utah. George is survived and cherished by
other relatives and many devoted friends.
George grew up in South Bend, IN and moved to Chicago in 2007. He
pursued a career in social work, where he found purpose in serving children,
those with disabilities, and the homeless community. A relentlessly hard
worker, George worked in several industries and was known for his strength,
leadership ability, and joviality.
George married Shannon in 2013 In Hua Hin Thailand, and the two began
their life together in Chicago. Travel partners, a dynamic Halloween costume
duo, and alternate sous chefs for each other, George and Shannon's
relationship was filled with unconditional love, great food, and laughter.
George loved dogs, and they adopted their English bulldog, Jolene, in 2013
and Boston Terrier, Tammy, in 2021. He took loving care of Jolene, and
sparred with Tammy up at every opportunity.
George was known for his love of music, cycling, being an adventurous cook
and eater, and most of all his sense of humor.
George was an incomparable family member and friend who showed up at
every opportunity. Be it help moving, throwing a party, lending a listening ear,
or the shirt off his back, George would give it. He maintained friends from
every phase and walk of life-- a testament to his kindness, generosity, and
sense of humor.
Services will not be held, but the family will have a Celebration of Life on a to
be determined date.
