Christy S. Armitage (Jackson), aged 64, passed away on June 13, 2026 after a short battle with cancer.
Christy was born in El Paso, Texas in August 1961. She lived a colorful life, getting her degree in Anthropology and History from the University of Texas at El Paso. She worked for several years as a physical anthropologist before transitioning to healthcare.
She eventually moved to Minnesota to “see snow” and, upon seeing said snow, decided it lost its appeal fairly quickly. That did not deter her though, as she remained in the Midwest for the rest of her life. She passed away in Chicago, Illinois.
She is survived by her children, whom she loved more than life itself, Lacey Armitage, Meghan Zentzis and Tiffany Woronko, as well as her sons-in-law, Josh Zentzis, David Armitage and Matt Woronko and her grandchildren, Freyja Armitage, Michael Armitage, Ihla Zentzis and Maxim Woronko. She leaves behind three sisters, Nikki Fields, Jacque Davidson and Jennifer Parker.
In lieu of flowers, she asked that donations be made to the following:
Kayenta Robotics Team – Navajo Nation
Kiyani – Firewood Fund for Elders in Need – Wide Ruins, AZ
Navajo Prep School – After school programs
Arrangements entrusted to Chicagoland Cremation Options in Schiller Park, Illinois.
