Cindy Lee Workman, 66, of Crystal Lake, known to many as “Auntie” and “Da Boss”, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, peacefully and surrounded by her family at home.
Cindy was born on February 1, 1956, in Columbus, OH, to James and Betty Workman.
Youngest of three children, she was mommy and daddy’s little girl. Having many uncles and aunts, she enjoyed life with her cousins to the fullest. Her teenage years were spent following her big sisters footsteps and discovering her love for music and records. She enjoyed nothing more than listening to a song of one of her many favorite bands.
Having a heart full of love and care, she helped raise her big sisters two daughters as well as always watching her brothers daughter. Doing so brought her much joy. Later, when her nieces began to have children, she wanted nothing more than to be one of the first faces her great nephews and nieces saw. She continued her duties as Auntie, consistent in being there for every moment of their life. Adoring them and being their biggest cheerleader, she became their best friend. Doing so til her very last breath.
Her heart was for her family and those she cared most for. She brought pure joy, love, and happiness to her family; a purity that will be so missed. Her smile and laugh brought the same to everyone she met. Always cracking a joke to get an entire room rolling over in laughter. The “good morning love ya
auntie” texts she would send, would be the highlight of everyone’s day. She did everything for her family, filling every void they ever felt. Her legacy will remain for lifetimes.
Survivors include her sisters, Linda (Kevin) Schuemann of Crystal Lake and Cheri (Tonya) Kintz of Opelika, Ala.; her brother Jim Workman of Algonquin; her nephews and nieces; Christine (Michael) Gardner, Lisa Shafer and Crystal (Elvis) Guzman, and Austin, Lucas, and Kelsey Kintz-Roberts; her great nephews and nieces, Zenaido Bueno, Bryanna (Chandler) Leachman, Alexis (Edwin) Sanchez, Michael, Matthew and Madison Gardner; her great-great nephews and nieces, Zaeden, Emilio, and Eliana.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim and Ava Workman; grandmother, Mary Willis; and her mommy and daddy, Jim and Betty Workman.
She has done her duties, it is her time to rest in her eternal paradise.
