Danilo “Danny” Bautista Amigleo, age 93, of Tinley Park, Illinois, and formerly of Baliwag, Bulacan, Philippines, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on February 19, 2025.
Danny immigrated to Chicago in 1965, and was joined three years later by his then-wife, Miguelita, and their children. Settling in Streamwood Illinois, they focused on raising their family with strong values, deep Catholic faith, community, and a sense of adventure and love of life. Danny loved his role as a father, taking great joy in his five children Antonio Avelino (Elizabeth Hicks) Amigleo, Mary Pauline (Ron Jr.) Misjak, Jose Norberto (Misty) Amigleo, Jessica JingJing (Lawrence) Silvestri, and Valerie (Robert) Goetsch.
In 1988, he moved to Los Angeles where he met and married his beloved wife of 28 years, Michelle, and became loving stepfather to Fred (Nola) Williams and Mark (Susie) Williams. Danny and Michelle enjoyed dance and travel, and lived and worked for many years in South Korea before retiring to Los Angeles.
A gifted architect, Danny designed numerous restaurants and buildings worldwide, leaving a lasting legacy through his work. Beyond his profession, Danny had a deep appreciation for the arts. He was an accomplished harmonica player and a passionate ballroom dancer, especially fond of the tango.
In his 70s, Danny discovered a remarkable talent for painting, creating breathtaking, award-winning watercolor masterpieces over the next two decades.
Danny was ‘Lolo’ to his cherished grandchildren Shauna, Michael Jr. (Karen), Maximilian, Mario, Maleena, Nicolina, Gianna, Julianna, Brianna, Daniella, Marcela, Angelina, TJ, Alex, Ryan (Michelle), Cjaisey, Brandon (Linley), Lauren (Karl), Alyssa (Zach), and Joel (Ashley), and ‘Great Lolo’ to Devyn, Michael III, Noah, Kaylie, Levi, Ella, and Nathaniel.
Danny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Michelle (2018); his son, Antonio “Tony” Amigleo (2024); his siblings, Leonor (Antonio) Lazaro, Velinda (Ernesto) Samonte, Raul Amigleo, Imelda (Roberto) San Andres, and Violeta (Danilo) Oncena; and his parents, Vicente and Rosario. He is survived by his dear brother, Jose Jr. (Mary Ann) Obial, his children, along with many extended family members and close friends who will forever treasure his kindness, playful sense of humor, and artistic spirit.
Danilo’s warmth, creativity, and love touched the lives of many. His legacy will live on through his family, his art, and the cherished memories he leaves behind.
