Dante Johnson

March 2, 1983 — November 29, 2025

Evanston

Dante Johnson, born March 2, 1983, to Joye Johnson in Washington, D.C., departed this life leaving behind cherished memories, deep laughter, and a legacy of love. Raised in the nation’s capital, Dante forged his own path with resilience and determination. After graduating from Eastern High School, he moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he continued to build a life rooted in warmth, humor, and the simple joys he treasured.

Dante is preceded in death by three beloved family members who played meaningful roles at different points in his life: his grandmother, Gloria Jean Flowers; his aunt who helped raise him, Ruth Annie Bailey; and his uncle, Desmond Johnson.

He leaves to mourn his passing his mother, Joy Johnson; his grandfather, Raymond Earl Flowers, Sr.; his aunts, Kimberly Johnson and Ragan Flowers; and his uncle, Raymond Earl Flowers, Jr. Dante also leaves behind his cherished cousins—who were more like siblings—Tiara Johnson-Proctor and Terrance Johnson, as well as Annette Johnson, whom he held dear along with a host of other family and loved ones.

Those who knew Dante will remember his unmistakable joy for life. He loved good food, good laughs, and any moment filled with connection and warmth. His presence lit up every room he entered, and his humor and heart left lasting impressions on everyone blessed to know him.

Though he has departed this earthly life, the love Dante shared remains everlasting. His memory will live on in the laughter he sparked, the meals shared in his honor, and the countless stories that continue to warm the hearts of his family and friends.

May he rest in peace, wrapped forever in the love of those who went before him and remembered always by those he leaves behind.
