David E. Krueger

David E. Krueger, age 79, of Prospect Heights, Illinois and formerly of Gurnee, at rest July 1, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Linda. Loving father of Lori (Derek) Zimmermann, Matt (Samantha) Krueger, Paul Krueger and the late Kelly Krueger. Dear grandfather of Nicholas, Parker and Tanner. Cherished brother of Carol (Ed) Shinton and the late Ken Krueger. David began his career as an Insurance Salesman before realizing his passion for teaching. He devoted the rest of his career educating students within the Antioch Upper Grade School. This Vietnam vet was a bronze star recipient. He enjoyed taking care of his yard, relaxing on his deck, having dinners with his family, and taking care of his grandson, Parker. He traveled with his sister, Carole, and vacationed with his kids near her cottage in Minocqua. All enjoyed his wild boat rides. He never had a bad word to say about anyone, instilled a love of golf in his boys, and gardening in his daughter. His son, Paul, was his loving caregiver during his final stage of life allowing him to live his normal lifestyle as long as possible.

A private celebration of his life to be held at a later date and time.

Mr. Krueger was my homeroom and social studies teacher in 6th grade. He was one of the kindest, most welcoming, and engaging teachers I ever had. I'm so sorry to all of his friends, colleagues, and his loving family. He had an incredible impact on the lives of so many students.
