Diane Sauder, age 75, passed away on May 22, 2026 at her home in
Deerfield, Illinois. She is survived by her spouse Gary and her
siblings, Renee Wold and Steve (Tami) Olson. She was preceded in death
by her stepdaughter, Melissa.
Diane was a rural letter carrier living in Sterling, Illinois before
marrying and moving to Lisle, Illinois in 1993. An accomplished
violinist, Diane was for years a member of the Dubuque and Clinton,
Iowa symphonies and East Meets West Music Arts in Naperville,
Illinois.
Diane believed that she who plants a garden plants happiness, and her
gardens were a delight shared with family and friends.
While living in Lisle, Diane was a volunteer educator at Willowbrook
Wildlife Center. At home, her life-long concern for injured, lost or
abandoned animals led to a succession of cats that found love and
shelter in her arms.
But even more than music, plants and cats, Diane loved her friends.
She was a genuinely kind soul who despite her own troubles was always
ready to listen, comfort and support others.
