Donald Finlayson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Finlayson who passed away on July 11, 2026 at age 69.

Donnie is survived by his siblings Robert (Terri) Susan Moy (Don) Randy (Cindy) and Greg (Lizzie) as well as his father’s widow Jeanette Finlayson. He was a beloved uncle to 8 nieces and nephews.Donnie was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Patricia (James Shipps) and siblings David and Sharon Shipps.

Donnie served in the military and then worked the majority of his career in the company his father founded.

Donnie loved to hunt and ride his motorcycle and was a gun enthusiast. He was also a fantastic cook and his special lumpia were famous at all family gatherings.

Donnie was also an amazing caregiver. He always went out of his way to care for all the members of his extended family in any way he could despite his own health difficulties.

Services will be held on July 27th at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood Illinois. Donnie will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
