Dorothy Bush (née Stokes), affectionately known as Doro, born on December 4, 1935, in Belvidere, Illinois, passed away on November 12, 2025. Known for her caring nature, Doro brought warmth and kindness to everyone she met.
In her younger years, Doro was an avid tennis player and a skilled snow skier. She had a passion for travel that took her to many beautiful places. She traveled to many countries and lived in Italy and France. She became fluent in Italian while living abroad. In her leisure time, Doro enjoyed knitting, reading, and solving word puzzles, activities that showcased both her creativity and her love for mental challenges.
Doro was also an accomplished painter and sculptor, taking pride in her artistic talents which brought joy to her and those around her.
Doro leaves behind her loving family, including her daughter Karen Bloodgood(Chris Frank)(former Sam), her stepchildren Nancy Bush, Brad Bush, and Betsy Jones, as well as her cherished granddaughters Leah, Sammy and Cassie. She is also survived by her sister, Shuzz.
Doro is predeceased by her husband Edwin, former spouse Roger Rasmusen, with whom she shared children, her son Mark, and her sisters Marjorie and Marilyn.
Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, who will remember her vibrant spirit and the love she shared throughout her life.
