Edward Michael Plucinski

August 21, 1945 — June 19, 2025

Mundelein,IL

Edward (Ed) Michael Plucinski, devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away on June 19, 2025. Born on August 21, 1945, in Chicago, IL, Ed led a life filled with dedication and love, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him.

Ed held a deep affection for his family, whether he was sitting in the stands cheering at his son' soccer game or watching his daughter's choir and show choir performances. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren: Kailey Hernandez (Alan), Austin Plucinski, Ashlee Webb, and Clayton Thompson. The memories created with them were among his most treasured.

In addition to his family, Edward enjoyed various hobbies. He found peace and relaxation in watching his favorite movies, fishing, riding his classic Schwinn bike, playing his numbers and crossword scratch offs, and listening to his oldies, which brought him joy throughout his life.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Wendy Plucinski of 53 years; son, Michael Plucinski (Jami); daughter, Melissa Thompson (Ben); and brothers Jim Plucinski and Bob Plucinski (Geila) and sister-in-law Josie Plucinski. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Victoria Plucinski, his brothers Ted Plucinski (Pat) and Bud Plucinski, sister Jan Mulchahy and sister-in-law Flora Plucinski.

Ed will be remembered for his quiet way of caring, his bird-like whistle, his saying yes when offered two choices, and his steadfast love for his family. His legacy will continue to live on through the cherished memories he created.

Ed was a huge supporter of Mundelein show choir, so in lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to help support the continuation of these programs in his community. For more information you may contact Cory Thompson at cothompson@d120.org.
