Edwin Friesendorf

Edwin John Friesendorf, 64, of Schaumburg, passed away on May 22, 2026. Born on November 29, 1961, in Elgin, Edwin lived a life rooted in family, friendship, and service to others.

Edwin was the beloved husband of Karyn Friesendorf, with whom he shared 12 wonderful years of marriage. He was a devoted father to Tiffani (Brian) Auer, Jason Friesendorf, Jason Hansak, Filip Leszczinski, Alex Friesendorf, Arianna Bazilla, and Aiden Bazilla, and a proud grandfather to Bri Weberg. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Debra Davis, Nan Ingham, and Courtney Peters.

A dedicated member and active participant in Alcoholics Anonymous, Edwin touched countless lives through his commitment to helping others and serving his community in many capacities. His compassion, generosity, and willingness to lend a hand left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Professionally, Edwin worked as a futures trader, bringing determination and sharp instincts to his career. Outside of work, he enjoyed cheering on the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears, spending time at the poker table, and making memories with family and friends.

Edwin will be remembered for his big heart, his sense of humor, and the love he shared so freely with those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made in Edwin’s honor to the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University, in recognition of the compassion and support that meant so much to him throughout his life.
