Celebrating Elena Couto Bastable Elena Llaveria Couto Bastable was born in Campinas, Brazil on January 29, 1987. On September 24, 2019 Elena passed away surrounded by family and close friends. Elena is survived by her father Claudio Couto, her mother Rosse Llaveria, her husband Todd, and her brother Andre and sister-in-law Katie. Elena came to the United States to attend university at Clark University in Worcester, Massachussetts and moved to the Chicago area in 2009. For the past 7 years she fundraised for the educational foundation at Oakton Community College, where she met Todd and made many good friends. In the summer of 2018 Todd and Elena were married. In the summer of 2019 they celebrated their first anniversary with a honeymoon road trip along their mutual love, the Mississippi River. Elena, an energetic individual with an infectious smile and laugh, loved to travel, enjoyed being outdoors and active. Elena’s family will spread her ashes in some of her favorite places to celebrate her journey through life. Services will be private.
