Elizabeth Wright

March 20, 1943 — March 29, 2023

Marquette Park

Elizabeth Wright, a loving mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 29, 2023, at the age of 80.

Elizabeth was born on March 20, 1943, in Crawfordsville, AR. She was the second child of Rosie L. Cryer (Robertson) and Robert Robertson. Elizabeth's father was a union worker, and her mother was a homemaker. Elizabeth had a happy childhood growing up in the rural south. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved helping people, no matter what walk of life.

Elizabeth attended high school in Crawfordsville and then went on to work as a healthcare and childcare professional. Elizabeth married her husband, Henry L. Wright, who preceded her in death. Elizabeth worked as a childcare professional for many years and loved her job; she also adopted many of the very children that she raised. She was a dedicated childcare professional and was loved by all who had an opportunity to meet her and affectionately called her "Jonnie B, or Mama Liz."

Elizabeth raised 7 children; two daughters, Audrey Chestnut (preceded in death) & Laura Dudley; and five sons, Bobby Robertson (preceded in death); Andrew Robertson; Johnny Dudley (preceded in death); Lamont Robertson; Alphonso L. Wright. Elizabeth was a devoted mother and always put her family first. She was always there for her children. She was a loving and caring grandmother to her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and playing games. Cousins were loved and cared for as her immediate family, and in many cases, one could not make the difference from friends and family - she was just that self-less!

Elizabeth studied for years with the Jehovah's Witness congregation prior to her death. She was an avid participant as a Bible student with her friend Doris. She was very cherished in her community overall.

Elizabeth was a kind and generous person. She always put others before herself. She was always willing to help a friend or neighbor in need. She was a true friend and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Elizabeth will be deeply missed by all who know her. She was a wonderful woman who lived a full and happy life. She will be remembered for her love, kindness, and generosity.

Special Tributes:

Lamont Robertson (Son): Dear Mom, I always tried to live my life ensuring that I am always making you proud. To the very end, you gave me that gift, your smile, which has always resonated to me to be a seal of approval, and that reassured me, that perhaps, I was doing something good. I am so proud to have been your son in life and again in spirit!

To My Grandma (Clifton Dudley)

If I could give you one thing in life, I would give you the ability to see yourself through my eyes, Only then would you realize how special you are to me.

I am so grateful for all that you are and all that you do, all the love you give and the laughter we share, for letting me know you always be there.

I’m so blessed to have a grandma like you.

Love you forever – Dee

God has you in your arms and we will always have you in our hearts, love always – The Family
