Elwood "Todd" Powers, born on April 5, 1938, in Highland Park, Illinois, passed away on April 22, 2026. He lived a meaningful life marked by resilience and commitment, holding pride in his 53 years of sobriety through Alcoholics Anonymous.
Todd is survived by his beloved spouse of 44 years, Diane Powers, who stood by his side through life’s journey. He also leaves behind his daughter, Tina Reed and her husband Bret, son the late Robbie Powers and stepson, Charles (Charlie) Wolf, whom he loved dearly. His granddaughter — Heather Allen and her daughters Kamryn and Madison; his grandson Paul Allen and his wife Maricela and their daughter Lidia - carry forward his legacy.
Todd was part of a large family that included brothers William (Bill) Powers and his wife Barbara, Lawrence (Larry) Powers and his wife Patricia, Robert Powers and his wife Janet, sisters Emma Jean Denzel, Sharon Edenhoffer, Julie Denzel and her husband Robert, and many. many nieces and nephews (too numerous to mention). Each of these individuals holds a special place in the memories left behind.
Todd’s life remains a testament to perseverance, love, and family connection. He will be remembered for his steady spirit and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him.
His passing is deeply felt by all who loved him, and his memory will be treasured by Alcoholic's Anonymous, his family and friends alike. His spirit lives through the many lives he touched by sharing his gift of sobriety.
