Erin Salazar

Erin Salazar, age 43, of Elgin Illinois, passed away Thursday March 5, 2026.

Born on August 9, 1982, Erin loved her son Flynn more than anything. Though she struggled with addiction, he remained the center of her heart and thoughts.

Erin experienced both joy and challenge throughout her life. Those who knew her remember her as someone who cared deeply for her friends and family. She faced personal struggles and her passing leaves a space that words will never fully capture.

She is survived by her son Flynn, her mother Roseann Simon, and her sister Jami (Brian) Firek. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents John and Dorothy Simon, and her sister Breanne Harty.

A celebration of life will be held April 2nd from 4 pm - 8 pm at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee, IL 60118. The family asks that Erin be remembered with compassion and grace. Please extend kindness to those in your life struggling with addiction.
