Eva B. Giba, 96, of Harwood Heights, born in Södertälje Sweden and raised in Stockholm Sweden, is at rest on November 29, 2023. Loving daughter of the late Hulda and Johan Holger Pettersson and dear sister of the late Isa (Borja) Alm.  Eva moved to Chicago to marry and raise a family with her beloved husband the late Joseph (2003). Adored mother of Elizabeth (Robert) Knowles, Patricia Giba, Kristina Holmes, Michalene (late Thomas Prindeville (2012) and Karl Thomas) Prindeville and Joseph Giba. Cherished "mormor'' of Heleyna Rasmussen, Leslie (Patrick) Masciocchi, Katharyne (Timothy) Kennelly and Thomas Prindeville. Loving great “mormor” to Eric, Sonja and Kelly Rasmussen, Arthur Kennelly, and Zinnia Masciocchi.  Known to many as Auntie Eva, she was loved and respected for her many beautiful qualities.  A dear friend to neighbors, coworkers, and her many friends gained through years of participation in Swedish heritage organizations the Swedish American Museum, Independent Order of Svithiod Lodge No. 1, American Daughters of Sweden, and children’s Swedish singing group Sverige Barnen.  A devoted parishioner of St. James Lutheran Church and Shepherd’s Heart, many have loved her and been loved by her as they worked together to spread love and perform acts of kindness and charity to those in need.   

A memorial service will be held at a future date.
