Gabriel "Gaby" P. Sanchez, 92, resided in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood and was born and raised in Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He went home to be with our Lord on January 30. 2026. Gaby was a faithful follower of Christ. He was the only child born to the late Herminia Pajarito.
Gaby is survived by his beloved wife Justina; loving children Nestor (Jeannette), Olivia (Neil) and twins Raymond and Reynald Michael; cherished grandchildren Ernest Gabriel, John Carlo, Samuel, Ruth Esther, Isaiah Immanuel and Hannah Abigail; and longtime friends Pastor and Dr. Leofin Blanco, CEC family, Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Tanglao, Mr. and Mrs. David Maanes, Mr. and Mrs. Clarito de Jesus, Pastor and Mrs. Paul Guinto, and Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Bondoc.
Gaby was a professor at FEATI University, and later taught at a government school in Izom, Niger State, Nigeria.
Gaby was a former Yankees fan, but once he moved to Chicago, he became a longtime Cubs fan. He enjoyed gardening-- church members and friends would swing by to pick fresh vegetables, which he affectionately called his "Gulay Ministry".
A memorial service will be announced at a later date and time.
