Gail Borvig

Gail Borvig of Arlington Heights and formerly of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, went home to Jesus on May 8, 2021 at age 84. She was the beloved wife of Paul for sixty-one years. Loving mother of Cathy (David) Strafford and Karen (Craig) DiLorenzo. Cherished Grammy Gail of Harrison (Brittany) Strafford, Krista (Matt) Schroeder, Jacob Strafford, Alec DiLorenzo and Jordan (Yeongseo) DiLorenzo. She was also blessed with two great granddaughters.

Gail earned an Associate’s Degree from Stephens College and a Bachelor’s Degree from Northwestern University, where she met the love of her life, her husband Paul. In addition to being a dedicated wife and mother, Gail was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, and friends. She took pride in being a homemaker, working as a church secretary, and being involved in a book club, bridge clubs, and Bible studies.

Gail was a fighter. As an ovarian cancer and breast cancer survivor, she held an unwavering faith in God, resting on the words of Romans 8:28. God’s promises continued to bring her peace in her final years with congestive heart failure.

Memorial services will be held at Meadows Christian Fellowship, 2401 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows, IL 60008, on Monday, June 21. Visitation will be at 10:00 am, service at 11:00 am. Lunch will be served after the service. Memorials can be made to Meadows Christian Fellowship on her behalf.

Arrangements entrusted to Chicagoland Cremation Options of Schiller Park, Illinois.

Dear Paul, Thank you for letting us know that Gail has gone on to heaven to be with the Lord there. We are sorry for your loss in not having her here. Gail was such a lovely, true, and strong woman of faith, inside and out! Her eyes sparkled from her heart! We are so thankful that God had our paths intersect and for the friendship we have shared with both of you.
With our sympathy, love, and prayers, Dave and Linda MacKinnon
