Gary Richard Hudson, 74, of Oak Brook, Illinois, passed away on November 24, 2025, from complications of pneumonia and COVID-19.

Gary was born in Columbus, Ohio, on March 30, 1951. Son of a naval officer, he spent his early years in places as far flung as Alaska, Rhode Island, Australia, and the Republic of the Philippines, but for the past 40 years he has called Greater Chicago his home.

After earning his doctorate from the University of Illinois Chicago in 1991 with his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, Gary thrived in his occupation as an advanced professional statistician. He was respected and admired by colleagues, who knew him to be highly analytical and intellectual, with a lifetime of IQ scores recording in the genius-to-near-genius range. A deeply spiritual humanitarian, he was good-natured, caring, insightful, and kind.

Predeceased by his parents (June and Dick Hudson), brother (Dean), and fiancé (Theresa), he is survived by Ron, his best friend for the last 30 years, and by cousins Carol, Doris, David, and Mark, who miss him dearly.
