Genevieve Meza, a beautiful spirit with a bright smile, a partner, a grandmother, and above all, a dedicated mother, passed away on the morning of January 4th 2023.
She was born to Ludwik Golebiowski and Stanislawa Seretna on May 28, 1959. Growing up in Chicago, she spent her years bringing light and smiles into the lives of the people she met. Her passions were creative arts and crafts, giving love through her traditional cooking of Mexican and Polish dishes and dancing cumbias.
She was known for her ability of story-telling in English, Polish and Spanish; her unexpected jokes that brought memorable laughter, and her exquisite fashion regardless of the destination or the occasion. She loved the singer Marco Antonio Solis and her favorite show was Criminal Minds.
She faced her life with resilience. Her strength knew no obstacles, her generosity knew no limits. These are the qualities that live on in her children.
She is survived by her children: Tom Meza and his partner Carolina Meza, Daniel Meza, Jeffrey Meza, Liliana Leon and her partner Brandon Boyde, Lizette Leon and her partner Yadel Louis-Charles, as well as her partner Octavio Leon.
Her grandchildren: Brighton Boyde, Zaida Boyde, Diana Louis-Charles, Tiandra Meza, Antonio Meza, James Meza, Leah Meza, and Sean Meza.
Viewing will take place on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 11am at St. William Catholic Church followed by Mass at noon. The family welcomes donations to be given directly to her chidren. Any flowers should be sent directly to St. William Church.
