George Earl Zucco

March 7, 1954 — July 31, 2023

Beach Park, IL

George Earl Zucco, loving father, brother, uncle, and friend to many, died at home peacefully in his sleep on July 31, 2023. George was preceded in death by his parents, Rita Elaine (nee Moberly) and Gitano (George) Zucco. George is survived by his daughter Jessica and younger siblings Richard, Charlotte, John, Christine, Joseph, and Christopher.

George was born on March 7, 1954, in Chicago, IL and spent his early childhood in Franklin Park, IL. In the 60s, George’s family moved to Waukegan, IL, where George excelled at little league baseball. George’s love of baseball continued into high school, where he was on the Illinois State championship baseball team of ’71–’72. George graduated with a B.S. from Kansas Wesleyan and went on to finish his D.C. at Cleveland Chiropractic college in Kansas City, Missouri.

In the early 2000s, George coached his daughter Jessica in softball, and in later years, George played ball in the seniors’ league, and later still, he umpired local games. Though he loved all those activities, he was most at home in the sportsbook in Vegas or riding the Raging Bull at Six Flags or sitting in his favorite chair at home watching classic old movies like “Casablanca” and “The Adventures of Robin Hood” as well as newer classics like “Wayne’s World” and “Iron Man.”
