Gerard Marcel Saucy was born on June 26, 1939, in Moutier, Switzerland. He lived a long and full life until he passed away on April 4, 2026, after calling Lake In the Hills, Illinois his home for the past 50 years.

Gerard had a dedicated career in Swiss Automation, where he worked for 34 years before retiring in 2011. His work was a significant part of his life, and he surely left his mark through his many years of commitment.

He married his beloved wife, Linda Saucy Eitmontas, on August 13, 1966, in Woodstock, Illinois. Together, they shared many years of love and family life. Gerard was a proud father to their children Richard Saucy, Monique Smith, and Claudine Bain. He was a doting grandfather to Nicole (David) Ershback, Troy Smith, Eva Van Dyne, and Wil Van Dyne as well as his great-grandchildren Kade Ershback and a baby boy expected on May 5th. Gerard was also a brother to Mireille Saucy and André (Eliane) Saucy, who still live in Switzerland, and he had many nieces.

The family will gather to honor Gerard’s memory at his interment service on April 15, 2026. The service will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Windridge Memorial Park and Nature Sanctuary, located at 7014 S Rawson Bridge Rd, Cary, Illinois 60013. Inurnment will be private

Gerard Marcel Saucy’s life was marked by dedication, family, and deep roots in both Switzerland and Illinois. His memory lives on through his loved ones and the community he helped build around him.
