Grace Elizabeth Anderstrom

In Loving Memory of Grace Elizabeth Anderstrom (Seiler), 87, of West Chicago, IL., passed away Thursday evening, Oct. 14, 2022, at her Home after a 7 year battle with Dementia and multiple strokes. 

Grace was born on September 03, 1935 in Chicago, IL to the Late Herald and Della Seiler, she was preceded in death by her two brothers William & Lawrence Seiler. In 1962 Grace married her 2nd husband Lester Leo Anderstrom, who preceded her in death on October 12, 1987 shortly after their 25th wedding Anniversary. Lester legally adopted Grace's two older daughters, Suzanne (Mark) Nitz and Kathryn Brown; they had one daughter of their own, Laura  (Chris, deceased) Zagone. Grace leaves behind three Daughters, six Grandchildren: Kelly Johnson, Ryan Peterson, Shannon (Kevin) Navratil, Amanda (Robert) Downs, Steven (Janet) Brown, & Eric Anderstrom; seven Great Grandchildren: Angel’Lea Johnson, Seth Johnson, Ross Sayre, Alexis Downs, Eleanora Navratil, Addison Downs, Amelia Downs; and one Great Great Grandson: Phoenix Schneeman. 

Grace liked to garden, go to the dog park with her many dogs over the years, travel to Arkansas, Arizona & even Alaska, but most of all she Loved being with Family and her many friends that became Family. Grace was an Illinois State Certified Bowling instructor for many years at Broadview Bowl in Broadview, IL, she worked for Albertson (Jewel) for 40 years and finally Retired at the age of 80 after her first Stroke. She was not happy when we had to take those car keys away, she was a very independent person, hard worker, hardly ever rested and she never asked for help unless she absolutely needed it. We tried to let her have her independence as much as we could to a point but she needed to be taken care of after a while by her daughter Kathryn. Grace was able to stay in her home in West Chicago, IL, until the very end surrounded by the people that loved her very much. Grace Elizabeth Anderstrom was full of life and vigor, she will be Greatly missed and remembered by everyone that knew her, even the customers at Jewel still ask about her.
