Herbert George Wenke

Herbert George Wenke, 85, of Westmont, IL passed away on April 25, 2023.  George was originally from Chicago, the son of the late Otta Charles and Frieda Wenke.  He was the beloved husband of Bette Khan Wenke.  The pair met in high school and were married for 66 years. He was the loving father of Steven (Jeannine) and adoring grandfather of Stephanie (Kevin) Kroeger. Herbert was self employed as a carpenter who worked renovating homes.  He could fix anything and could deduce the best way to do it in the most "logical and strategic manner" possible.  Herbert also loved to hunt with his son Steven for wild turkeys' and deer.  The pair also took many fishing trips together to Wolf River.
