Horace Harrison Jr.

December 4, 1956 — January 4, 2024

Chicago

Horace (Jim) Harrison was born and raised on Chicago’s west side on December 4, 1956 to Mable and Horace Harrison. He graduated from McKinley Elementary and went on to Crane High School. At an early age, Jim had a love for dogs. He was master with his hands, always fixing and restoring things. Although he wasn’t certified to build, it didn’t stop him from making broken things new. Jim was always quiet and observant but personality and smile was contagious. He confessed a hope in Christ later on is his sickness. Jim went home to be with our Lord January 4, 2024. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Horace Sr. and Mable Harrison; 1 brother, Ronnie Harrison, and 1 sister Phyllis Harrison. He is survived by his loving sister Gail (Charles) Carr and 2 brothers, Thomas Harrison. 4 nieces Ericka Harrison, Danielle Harrison, Tyheatsha (Alvondo) Hayes and Tabitha Harrison and 6 nephews; Christopher Harrison, Clifford Harrison, Pierre Carr, Jeremiah Carr, Davante Carr, Jernard Carr and a host of great nieces and nephews.

Remarks

Jim, I am truly heartbroken that you’re not here with us anymore. Everytime I think about you, I can hear you laughing and that big smile, even with no teeth. You were always so pleasant to be around and always made me feel safe. All I can think of is you calling me “Easha” and then mumbling whatever it is you wanted. I normally have all the right things to say but now I can’t even put my feelings into words. I’m sure grandma, grandad, Phyllis, and Ronnie were ecstatic to welcome you into heaven. You’re no longer suffering and as long as I live, I will keep your name alive. Love you Unc! We will be united again! Your niece, Tyheatsha.
