James William Dudek, 77, born in Chicago, formerly of Richmond, IL and Ingleside, IL, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2021 in Highwood, IL.
Beloved husband to his wife of 54 years, Angela (Maida) Dudek; loving father of Danielle (Jim) Mirocha and Faith (Carl) Uphoff; dear grandfather to Sarah, Hudson, Gabby, Connor, Colton and Luke, and great-grandfather to Elizabeth; brother of Jacqueline (the late Tom) Petersen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thaddeus and Anne (Kupczak) Dudek, and infant children, James William Jr., and Michael Benjamin.
Jim enjoyed painting and spent some time studying at the Art Institute of Chicago; he served in the Army during the Vietnam War; and was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 134 for 37 years. After retiring, he went back to school to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Governor’s State; dabbled in collecting gemstones and making jewelry; and helped Angie run Sweet Angeline’s Bake Shop and Gourmet Café for 7 years.
A Celebration of Life will be considered at a later date.
