James Larry Frazier

October 2, 1939 — June 17, 2021

James Larry Frazier of Bolingbrook, Illinois passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the age of 81.
He was born James Larry Frazier on October 2, 1939 in Jackson, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his wife, of whom he cherished, Lillian M. Frazier (nee Tinkler), and loving parents, Rose and Byron Blackburn and J.T. Frazier.
His childhood nickname used adoringly by his family was “Sonny”. He is the loving Brother to Ann Aranyosi aka “Sister” (Julius). Larry was a graduate of Hammond High School in Hammond Louisiana and had a successful career in which he took great pride for over 35 years with Arkansas Best Freight (ABF). Larry began his career working on the dock, and by the time he retired, was the Branch Manager of the South Chicago terminal. Although he loved his career, Larry happily retired from ABF at the age of 60 to care for his elderly parents in Clinton, M.S. He and Lillian remained in Clinton for several years even after his parents passed.
Larry was most proud of his children and grandchildren. He was the loving Father to Darlene Asbury, Patrick (Kimberly) Kolpak, Kathy (Andy) Lee and Robert (Kristy) Kolpak. Cherished Grandfather to Chas Shanks, Bobby Alexander, Andrea Lee, Ian Asbury, Maggie Kolpak and TJ Kolpak; also Great-Grandfather of Mila Harris and Makai Harris. Larry found joy in making his children and grandchildren laugh and could often be found making a silly face at them for a laugh or telling them a joke, stating, “I’ve got a million of ‘em.” Aside from spending time with his family, Larry loved reading books (with a good cup of hot cocoa), cooking (while adding his own personal touch to recipes), listening to country music and watching movies and sports (his favorite sports being football and baseball).
Larry was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was a good, kind and caring man, a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren and family.
