James R. Hicks

James R. Hicks, 88, of Crystal Lake, formerly of Hoffman Estates, passed away September 28, 2018 with his loving family at his side. Beloved husband of Lynn (nee Stewart) for 48 years. Loving father of Jennifer (Jon) Heideman. Dearest grandpa of Ariana Hicks Carter, Tyler Heideman, Nathan Carter, Grant Carter, Dylan Heideman, and Johanna Heideman. Cherished brother of Bobby Gene (Sharon) Hicks. Fond uncle and friend to many. James was retired from Contour Saws of Des Plaines. He was a dedicated family man, loyal husband and loving dad. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his family and friends. An talented ballroom dancer until almost the end...he was always happy to waltz with his wife. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ruth Moore and Harold Hicks whom he will join in eternity. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life will take place on November 3, 2018. Memorial services will begin at 11am with a lunch reception to follow. Don't forget to bring your dancing shoes!
