Born on April 13, 1962 at just 1 lb. 10 oz, James Mohrmann was a true miracle to the late Pat and Richard Mohrmann. Although he spent his first year in and out of the hospital, he was a survivor. Because of his rough start in life, he grew into a compassionate, loving, caring man who loved his family and working as a CNA taking care of people. Jim was previously employed as a CNA at Sunrise Assisted Living-Gurnee-Alzheimer’s unit, a long-time picture framer at Daken Gallery, and most recently a Bell Ringer for Salvation Army.
He wouldn’t hesitate to help a friend, or stranger, or feed the feral cats and other animals in the neighborhood every day. He was a collector of many things and everyone knew to go to him if they needed anything. He was an avid Cubs fan as well as a bass guitar player in many bands through the years and had an interest in artwork and picture framing.
Jim leaves behind his siblings; Cindy Alters, Brian (Cindy) Mohrmann, Heather Rudy, Barbara-Jo (Richard) Bird, Richard (Andrea) Mohrmann, sister-in-law Kim Wedell and many nieces and nephews. Jim greets his parents and brothers; Donald Wedell, Robert Wedell and Michael Wedell in heaven.
