James Edward Rochotte, 77, of Budd Lake, NJ passed away Thursday, August 18 after a months-long illness while visiting Illinois.
Jim was born in Chicago. He attended the University of Iowa where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, bowling club and the ROTC program. He honorably served in both the Army and Army Reserves.
James worked in the claims area of the insurance industry for many years before retiring. After retirement, Jim volunteered at Noah's Ark animal shelter and worked at Sam's Club, Advanced Auto Parts, Weis Market, and most recently at Kilduff Dental Studio.
Jim was a friend of Bill W.'s for over 30 years. He had many hobbies and interests throughout his life including traveling, reading, fishing, ice fishing and doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles.
James is predeceased by his mother, Ruth Smith Rochotte, father, Harry Francis Rochotte, and brother-in-law Daniel Boone Park. He is survived by his sister, Judith [Rochotte] Park, his daughter, Emily Rochotte, and his wife, Diane Rochotte.
No funeral or memorial service has currently been planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Drakestown United Methodist Church, 6 Church Road, Long Valley, NJ 07853, or to the American Heart Association.
