Janeen Patricia Turner, 66, of Chicago's South Side, entered into eternal rest April 30, 2024. She is survived by her loving brother Stuart (Andrea) Turner; treasured nieces Payton and Lauren, who were like her daughters; and a host of dear family and friends. Janeen was preceded in death by her brother Craig Turner and parents Samuel and Mary Turner.
Janeen graduated from Morgan Park High School and continued her education at both Chicago State and Roosevelt University, where she earned her Master's degree in Social Work. She worked at Michael Reese Hospital for over 20 years. Following it's closure, she continued her career path at University of Illinois Hospital and Macy's famous State Street location. Janeen was passionate about her involvement and support for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, the first intercollegiate historically African American Sorority and the Chicago based chapter of The Society, Incorporated, a non-profit national organization of women dedicated to enhancing, exposing and promoting youth in the arts.
