Janice Stilling, 86, of Palatine, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on October 15, 2022.

Janice was a graduate of Northern Illinois University in Dekalb and received a degree in education. She taught history and geography at the junior high level for many years before becoming a stay at home mom to her six children and a foster mom to many infants. In an article written about her from May of 1980, she was quoted for saying, “Someday I might go back to teaching and whatever I do will have to involve children because without them, it wouldn’t be any fun”. Janice did go back and spent 25 years at Palatine High School dedicated to working in special education. She had a love and passion for children especially for her students with special needs.

She is survived by her beloved husband Richard Stilling; loving children Terry (Carla) Stilling, Kelly (Jim) Sisto, Amy (Tom) Tanner, Jody (Bob) Stoltz, Holly (Chris) Jancek, Christopher (Angelica) Stilling and Ayodele Adelogba; treasured grandchildren Travis, Shawn, Jimmy, Danny, Ryan, Samantha, Kayla, Charles, Wesley, Matthew, Danny, Kaitlyn, Max and Sebastion; cherished sister Lois (Robert)Tria and niece Carrie Alani (Laith).
