Joanna S. Snobel

Joanna S. Snobel (née Stiles), 84, of Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on Friday, October 6, 2023 surrounded by family.  Beloved wife of the late Richard Snobel, mother to her only son William (Vikki) Cheaks and cherished 'Grandma Jo' to Adrienne, Adam, and Aaron Cheaks.  Dear sister of Cyrus, Darlene, Bob, Raymond and the late Charles, Carrie Mae, Alberta, Ernestine, Frank, Joseph, Geraldine and George.  Fond aunt to numerous nieces and nephews and a dear friend to many.   She will be greatly missed by all.

Retired administrator with General Services Administration for 30 years.  Joanna was a longtime volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House for over 25 years.  If you had asked Joanna what she loves, she would rattle off a list without hesitation: “I love knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking, and volunteering.”

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ronald McDonald House in her name.
