Joanne Frances Kane

Joanne Kane, age 77, of Elk Grove Village, passed away on October 11, 2026. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Joseph Kane; her children, Kerry (Michael) Cavender, Kelly Kane & Joey Kane. She was the beloved grandmother to Blake, Cole, and Aidan Cavender & Ella Refvik. Dear sister to Maureen (Vince) Mistretta and Bob (Dawn) Kubistal. Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, Joe & Arlene Kubistal.

Joanne worked at Central States for 36 years. Her passions were shopping, decorating and gardening. She had equisite taste as indicated by her home and clothing. Her garden was the envy of all who enjoyed it and she spent many hours tending it. Joanne and her husband hosted fabulous parties in their beautiful home. She loved decorating her entire house for all of the holidays. Her and her husband traveled to many states and countries during their life together, even living in Germany when Joe was stationed there.

Joanne enjoyed traditions with her children and grandchildren like The Walnut Room, Navy Pier and Kiddieland. Her 3 grandsons live in Texas and would spend most of their summer with her. Her only granddaughter was local and she attended all of her plays, sporting events and school functions.

Joanne was generous with her gifts and her time. She attended and supported everything - even if she was late.
