John Thomas Dorman transitioned from this realm at the age 77 on August 7th, 2022 in Chicago, Illinois. He was born in Vivian, West Virginia on April 23, 1945 to parents Doyal Dorman Sr. and mother, LucyMae Pinkard.
John attended Kimball High School where he earned his diploma. He later moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1964 to further his passion. John was truly a jack of all trades. He not only played multiple instruments, but was able to read, write and teach music. He created masterpieces using paint, charcoal, clay as well as calligraphy.
John was known to be exceptionally charming and charismatic. His talents eventually led him to performing in the Chicago downtown area, and all the way to England where he performed with a band for several years.
Preceded in death by his mother and father, Doyal Dorman Sr and LucyMae Pinkard; his two brothers, Doyal Dorman Jr and Larry Dorman and the love of his life, Wanda Lee Williams.
John is survived by his two sisters, Odessa Riley and Marcella King, daughters Jeri (Kenneth) Pittman and Angela (Greg) Horton, grandchildren Keith Pittman and Nicole (Billy) Rogers and his seven great grandchildren, Keilan, Julian, Jayden, Alyssa, Peyton, Dajuan, and Brendon. Four nieces Raylene (Clifford) Bevly, Debra Riley, Pamela King, Sherita Broswell, Jacqueline (Harper) McDonald, nephews Terrance Dorman, Michael Williams (Odessa's stepson) as well as a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins.
